Bichectomy

Bichectomy or facial lipectomy is the surgical procedure in which we seek to improve facial features by creating the optical illusion of having a slightly longer and thinner face, thus improving the aesthetic appearance and facial harmony. The bachectomy consists of extracting the Bichat bags from each cheek (between 5 and 8 cc of adipose tissue for each bag) through small incisions, made on the inner side of the mouth. It is done through an incision at 0.5 cm. of the gingivo-labial superior sulcus, at the height of the second premolar, extending 2 cm. posterior parallel to the sulcus.
