Digital Smile Planning Technique for Fabrication of CAD/CAM Veneers and Mock-Ups

Patient had three intra- and extra-oral digital photos while putting special eyewear (Digital Smile System Srl, Italy). Digital impressions of both arches and bite were taken. The digital photos were processed in 2D-Digital Smile System (Digital Smile System Srl, Italy) software and combined with the STL files from the intraoral scans to give 3D objects. 3D-Digital Smile System (EGS Srl, Italy) was used to display the teeth and to virtually design the prostheses. In the first step, two mock-ups were designed, one for provisional restoration and one for preparation guidance. PMMA was the material of use in fabricating the mock-ups (Bredent Srl, Italy) using CAM system (Zirkonzahn Srl, Italy) milling machine. After the provisional mock-up was approved by the patient, the guiding mock-up was cemented with spot-etch technique to guide the position of the prostheses and to keep the margins on enamel surface. In the second step, the final veneers for upper central and lateral incisors were fabricated from PLVs (IPS e.max System, Ivoclar Vivadent Srl, Italy), produced using CAD/CAM technique (Zirkonzahn Srl, Italy).
