2008 photo- Old crown cut off of maxillary first molar.An amalgam patch was placed on palatal aspect a couple of years prior to arrest active decay under old crown until patient was able to undergo definitive treatment.Amalgam patch removed. Not looking good so far.Decay removal/excavation.Lots and lots of decay! Extensive decay unfortunately extending into pulp chamber, so a root canal was indicated.Endo (root canal) completed.Post & Core Build-Up with bonded composite resin.Removal of inflamed gingival (gum) tissues with LASER and gross preparation for a new crown complete. Things appear to be shaping up!Smoothing & Shaping of crown margin and furcation with a fine flame-shaped diamond bur (bit).Crown preparation complete and ready for digital imaging for new crown design and fabrication with CEREC by SironaNew all-porcelain Cerec crown fresh out of the milling unit.Imeediately following cementation of new crown (Immediate post-op-palatal view)
